CSAA AD’s
We are currently working on a safety document to help guide CSAA fall sports. The document will be presented to our CSAA Board of Directors for approval and then published to AD’s. This document should be ready for release by Monday, July 13th which is two weeks before the potential start of our fall tryouts/practices.
The recent surge in COVID-19 cases around the country is creating doubt about starting on time in many states. We are hopeful to remain on schedule, but everyone must stay flexible if changes are necessary. Our office will continue to monitor the situation and will take in consideration any fall sport revisions the KHSAA mandates during this process. We are also monitoring school start dates and plans in parishes.
Please make sure everyone in your parish is familiar with official CSAA policy on summer camps/clinics. I have copied the information directly from page 17 of the handbook below for quick reference. As of today, our office has not received any requests for summer clinics/camps.
Clinics/Camps:
Any athletic clinics or camps sponsored by a CSAA member involving parish grade school student-athletes or grade school coaches must be approved by the CSAA Executive Director. An e-mail or phone request for approval must be submitted to the CSAA prior to the clinic with the dates, times, set-up, etc. The clinic cannot occur within 2 weeks of the announced starting date of try-outs/practice of that sport. This applies if the clinic is held on parish grounds or at an outside location. If a parish is sponsoring a clinic, they must open the clinic to all parish students and limit it to parish members or students from their school.
